Blackpool, Lancashire Tradewind Recruitment 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Year 3 Are you a resilient, compassionate, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding 1:1 role? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working alongside a supportive mainstream primary school in Blackpool to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This role involves working closely with a child in Year 3 who in their SEMH unit, requiring dedicated support, guidance, and a tailored approach to help them access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom. This is an ongoing position running 5 days a week working the following hours: Monday to Thursday 08.30 until 14.30 Friday 08.30 until 13.00 About the Role Location: Blackpool Area Setting: Mainstream Primary School (Year 3 class) Role: 1:1 SEN Support / Behaviour Support, child on an EHCP Contract Type: Ongoing / Long-term supply Pay Rate: Competitive daily rates (paid weekly) Key Responsibilities Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 3 child throughout the school day. Supporting the child with managing challenging behaviour and implementing positive behaviour strategies. Assisting the class teacher in adapting learning materials and activities to suit the child's specific developmental and emotional needs. Fostering a calm, structured, and safe learning environment where the child feels secure and included. Building a trusting, positive rapport with the student, school staff, and parents/carers. Tracking progress and supporting social and emotional development. What We Are Looking For Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, or SEN specialist with children who display challenging behaviour, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health), or additional learning needs. Key Skills: Strong understanding of strategies to support primary-aged children (specifically KS2/Year 3). Requirements: Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references. CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained. Legal right to work in the UK. Experience supporting children with SEN.
