The Opportunity

We are supporting an NHS Trust in the West Midlands with the appointment of a Locum Consultant Interventional Radiologist.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified Consultant Interventional Radiologist to join an established Radiology service and provide high-quality specialist care across the Trust.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of safe and effective Interventional Radiology services throughout the assignment on a Monday–Friday basis.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide Consultant-level Interventional Radiology services across the Trust.

The role will include:

• Assessment and management of patients requiring Interventional Radiology procedures
• Providing Consultant-level clinical decision-making and specialist advice
• Performing a range of Interventional Radiology procedures appropriate to the candidate's experience
• Supporting image-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Working collaboratively with Radiology, surgical, medical and wider multidisciplinary colleagues
• Supporting junior medical staff where required
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit and service improvement activities
• Ensuring safe, high-quality and patient-centred care

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Clinical Radiology, with appropriate Interventional Radiology experience
• Previous NHS Consultant-level Radiology experience
• Significant experience in Interventional Radiology
• Appropriate experience in image-guided procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience working within an NHS Interventional Radiology department
• Broad experience across Interventional Radiology procedures
• Experience working closely with surgical and medical specialties
• Teaching and supervision experience
• Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
