The Opportunity

We are supporting an NHS Trust in the North West England with a locum opportunity within an established Obstetrics & Gynaecology service.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified doctor to join a busy Obstetrics & Gynaecology department and provide high-quality clinical care across both specialties.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the delivery of safe and effective services throughout the assignment.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide clinical services across Obstetrics & Gynaecology.

The role will include:

• Assessment and management of Obstetric and Gynaecology patients
• Providing appropriate clinical decision-making, diagnosis and treatment
• Managing acute and emergency Obstetric presentations
• Supporting antenatal and postnatal services
• Providing general Gynaecology services as required
• Participating in on-call duties as required
• Supporting delivery suite and emergency Obstetric services
• Working collaboratively with midwives, nursing staff and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Supporting and supervising junior medical staff where appropriate
• Maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation
• Contributing to clinical governance, audit and service improvement activities
• Ensuring safe, high-quality and patient-centred care

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• Appropriate postgraduate experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Previous NHS experience within Obstetrics & Gynaecology
• Broad experience across both Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Experience managing acute and emergency Obstetric presentations
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience working within an NHS Obstetrics & Gynaecology department
• Experience across a broad range of Obstetric and Gynaecological services
• Experience working within a delivery suite
• Teaching and supervision experience
• Experience in clinical audit, governance or service improvement
