Account Director

The agency behind this contract is a specialist creative and strategic partner to some of the world’s most recognised food, beverage and foodservice brands – including household FMCG names that have been core clients since the business began.

For a freelance Account Director, this role means live new-business activity and expanding accounts rather than caretaking.

The Role
You’ll own a portfolio of foodservice and FMCG accounts end-to-end – likely two to four core accounts – as the primary relationship owner with senior client stakeholders. That means full P&L responsibility: driving revenue growth year-on-year, forecasting, protecting GP% targets, and keeping a complete grip on financials and timelines.

But this is not a delivery seat. You’ll shape strategy, challenge thinking in the room, and identify where accounts can grow. You’ll run the key meetings and presentations, work alongside internal specialists and the senior leadership team, and contribute to both new and existing business. Reporting to the Director of Client Growth, you’ll sit at the point where commercial ambition, client trust and campaign delivery meet, with real influence over the brief, the work, and the direction of each relationship.

The Package
£60,000 – £65,000 pro rata 
Hybrid working: 2-3 days on-site
3 – 6 month contract

The Person
You’re a senior client services operator – an Account Director, or a Senior Account Manager ready to step up – with several years agency-side behind you. You’ve owned client P&L, run campaigns from brief to evaluation, and led senior relationships with confidence.
 
Experience in the food, beverage, foodservice or hospitality spaces will help you land quickly. As a freelancer, you’re looking for a defined engagement with genuine responsibility, not a holding pattern.
