System Engineer

Are you a Systems Engineer looking for an exciting new challenge? 

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer on a Permanent basis for our client in Staffordshire. 

Main Duties:

- Provide system engineering knowledge, experience and skills.
- Produce and check technical documentation including Technical Instructions, Overhaul specifications, production queries (PQs), technical bulletins, technical reports, technical specifications, technical queries (TQs), work instructions, wheelset data sheets, calculations, concessions and Engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Checking and approving technical drawings, Engineering bill of materials (EBoMs), customer TI`s and any technical documentation produced by mechanical engineer.
- Provide risk evaluation, assessment and mitigation evidence for product safety hazards.
- Support investigations into failures of systems and components, determine root cause and present findings.
- Interface with external and internal customers on engineering project progress and issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering discipline (preferable in bogies and or bogie components and or wheelset rail engineering).
- Experience in the specification, design, testing, maintenance, and failure investigation of mechanical systems and components.
- Experience in use of Mechanical CAD system (preferable).
- Experience of working in a production (shop floor) environment.
