Teaching Assistant Level 2

Our Lady & St Paul’s RC Primary School is currently seeking an Early Years Specialist Teaching Assistant – Level 2. This is an exciting opportunity to join the school and the wider Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development and growth within the multi-academy trust.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Early Years class teacher and wider Early Years team to support the learning, development and wellbeing of children within the Early Years Foundation Stage. They will help to create a safe, nurturing, stimulating and inclusive learning environment in which every child is encouraged to flourish.

The role will include supporting the delivery of high-quality learning experiences through both adult-led activities and purposeful play, working with individuals and small groups, and helping children to develop their communication and language, early literacy and mathematics, physical development, independence, confidence and personal, social and emotional skills. The successful candidate will support the class teacher with the preparation and organisation of the learning environment, observations and assessment of children’s progress, and the implementation of appropriate interventions and individual support where required.

As an Early Years specialist, the postholder will have a strong understanding of how young children learn and develop and will help ensure that provision reflects the needs, interests and next steps of all pupils. They will work collaboratively with teachers, teaching assistants, families and other professionals and will contribute fully to the wider life of the school. The successful candidate will also be expected to promote high standards of behaviour, safeguarding and welfare and to support the distinctive Catholic ethos of Our Lady & St Paul’s.
