Senior Teaching Assistant

Senior Teaching Assistants required at Avalon School due to continued growth of our school.

Avalon School is a Specialist School for students aged 11-19 situated in the town of Street. Our school vision is ‘Learning for Life’ - together with our parents and the learners themselves - we aim to teach skills for the whole of life. Grade 13- 32.5 hours per week 39 Weeks per year. (Term time plus INSET days)

We are looking for someone who can:

• Provide mentoring for new support staff
• Provide a professional role model for other staff
• To support the admin roles of the class teacher in terms of
• o Keeping pupil files up to date
• o Ensuring that resources are prepared and ready for learning
• To be the first point of call in their absence
• To teach groups under the direction of the class teacher
• To teach the whole class, short term in the absence of the class teacher
• To plan and prepare lessons for groups you are teaching
• To deliver training to other staff within the federation
