Infrastructure Engineer (BMS) - DV Cleared

Our client is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (BMS) to support the design, delivery and operation of critical infrastructure within the telecommunications sector. This is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Ipswich or London, working across complex Building Management Systems (BMS), Central Monitoring Systems (CMS), CCTV and wider infrastructure platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecting and delivering next-generation BMS, CMS and CCTV systems
• Driving automation-first infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell
• Resolving complex platform challenges across compute, storage and networking
• Collaborating with engineers, architects and operations teams to deliver end-to-end services
• Enhancing platform security, resilience, availability and performance at scale
• Supporting best practice in incident, change and problem management
• Creating clear, reusable runbooks, engineering standards and operational documentation
• Identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure delivery and introduce new technologies

Job Requirements:

• Experience leading the design, build, commissioning and live operation of complex infrastructure or engineering systems
• Strong technical knowledge of Building Management Systems, Central Monitoring platforms, CCTV or comparable critical control environments
• Understanding of high-availability and mission-critical environments where resilience, security and uptime are essential
• Knowledge of physical and system security principles, including operational risk identification and mitigation
• Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform, Ansible or PowerShell
• Ability to design and integrate complex, multi-vendor systems into scalable and reliable platforms
• Strong knowledge of networking, security and identity management
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to work with engineering, security, operations and wider stakeholders
