Residential Support Worker

📍 Ebbw Vale £36,000 | Full Time | Permanent

We're recruiting for a Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential service in Ebbw Vale.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people in a safe, nurturing environment while helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

We're particularly interested in hearing from candidates who enjoy sports, fitness, outdoor activities, or mentoring young people through positive hobbies and interests. Whether it's football, rugby, gym sessions, hiking, or general physical activity, your enthusiasm could make a real difference to the young people you support.

Key Responsibilities

• Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
• Supporting education, personal development, and independence skills
• Acting as a Key Worker for allocated young people
• Encouraging participation in sports, activities, and community engagement
• Completing care plans, recordings, and risk assessments
• Supporting young people through challenging situations
• Working closely with families, social workers, and other professionals
• Promoting a safe, caring, and supportive home environment

Requirements

• QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or equivalent
• Previous experience within children's residential care
• Understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Registered with Social Care Wales (or willing to register)
• Flexible to work shifts, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays
