Embedded Software Engineer – Yocto & Microcontrollers

An Embedded Software Engineer who is comfortable with a Yocto build environment as well as Microcontroller development will join an award-winning Technical Consultancy where you’ll work closely with customers on a wide range of challenging projects.

You’ll bring some post-graduate industrial Embedded Software Development experience, a strong academic history and the ability to communicate effectively with customers.

In this Embedded Software Engineer role you’ll build and maintain Yocto based Linux distributions; write and debug firmware for microcontrollers, bare metal or FreeRTOS; working across the stack from bootloader and kernel drivers down to real time firmware as well as supporting products in the field.

You’ll work with Clients across the UK, Europe and the US, with involvement in a range of industries from Medical Technology, Smart Home and Energy to Automotive and Scientific.

Key Requirements include:

• Post-graduate commercial Embedded Software development experience.
• Strong C/C++ for Microcontrollers (ideally STM32 or similar Cortex M)
• Proven hands-on experience with Yocto Project and Embedded Linux.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or another RTOS.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and reading schematics.
• Good communication skills with confidence to work closely with customers.

The successful Embedded Software Engineer must have full eligibility to work in the UK without Sponsorship.
