About the role

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school on the outskirts of Lichfield. This rewarding role will begin after October half term and continue until the end of the academic year.

The school is seeking an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and personally.

Working Pattern:

  • Monday & Tuesday: 8:45am – 12:00pm
  • Wednesday & Thursday: 8:45am – 11:45am
  • Friday: 8:45am – 3:15pm

About the Role

This position will involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP, ensuring they can access learning and fully participate in school life. You will work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources, implement support strategies, and create meaningful learning experiences tailored to the child’s individual needs.

The role is based within the school’s Early Years setting, so candidates should be comfortable supporting young children and providing personal and intimate care when required.

In addition, you will become an important part of a nurturing team that places children’s wellbeing, development, and achievement at the heart of everything it does.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP.
  • Support the class teacher in adapting planning and resources to meet individual needs.
  • Deliver tailored learning support to help the pupil engage and make progress.
  • Assist with personal and intimate care in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Promote the child’s independence, confidence, and social development.
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and school staff.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote pupil welfare at all times.
  • Support the values and ethos of the school and Early Years department.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Have experience supporting children with SEND and additional needs.
  • Be comfortable providing personal and intimate care.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
  • Be passionate about working within an Early Years environment.
