About the role

Zest Education is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and nurturing Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent. This rewarding role is available immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year.

Working within the school’s Early Years setting, you will become part of a supportive team committed to providing children with the very best start to their educational journey.

Hours: 19.5 Hours Per Week (Wednesday to Friday, 6.5 Hours Per Day)

About the Role

As a Level 3 EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching and learning within the Early Years classroom, helping children develop the confidence, independence, and key skills they need to thrive.

You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging learning opportunities through both structured activities and child-led play. Furthermore, you will help create a stimulating and nurturing environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.

This role would suit a proactive and caring individual who has a genuine passion for Early Years education and enjoys supporting young learners during this crucial stage of development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning within the EYFS classroom.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Support children’s personal, social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Help deliver engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with classroom preparation and organisation.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification.
  • Have previous experience working within an EYFS setting.
  • Be passionate about supporting children’s development and learning.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Be patient, caring, and enthusiastic.
  • Have a good understanding of the EYFS curriculum and child development.
  • Be committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
