Site Manager

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the school premises across both Primary and Secondary Sites. Your expertise will ensure that our learning environment remains safe, clean, and compliant with all regulations. You will lead the Premises Team, oversee contractor control, statutory testing, and health and safety, ensuring the smooth running of our school operations

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations
• Responsible for regular scheduled Health and Safety checks of buildings, grounds, safety systems (including compliance with Fire Safety, Asbestos and Legionella regulations) and equipment.
• To undertake written site related Risk Assessments in response to issues raised and be able to recommend appropriate courses of action.
• To update, control and monitor the online H&S Management Systems as well as contactor CAFM systems.
• Ensure the premises team act as the first point of contact for all contractors and visitors to site.
• To work with the DRET Estates, Facilities and Operations teams to mitigate issues/challenges and to proactively plan works/projects for school holidays.
• Responsible for monitoring contractors working on site and ensuring work is completed to the required standard and value for money is achieved.
• To direct the premises team and provide support where necessary, to undertake repairs and maintenance projects as directed by the Academy Operations Manager and DRET Estates, Facilities and Operations teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Manage and monitor all facilities related contracts, including but not limited to cleaning, grounds maintenance, pest control, waste, and security.

Who we are looking for

• Experience in a facilities role, site management, or a similar role within an educational setting
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
• Ability to understand and operate functional elements of industrial, electrical, and mechanical equipment
• Able to manage a Site Premises team, and provide direction and prioritisation of site tasks
• Competent IT skills including Microsoft suite and web-based asset management systems
• Ability to understand and apply regulations such as health and safety, manual handling, COSHH etc
• Good planning and negotiating skills
• Ability to use own initiative
• Ability to adapt to changing and conflicting demands
