Lunchtime Controller

About the Role
Maiden Erlegh School is seeking a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Lunchtime Controller to support the safety, wellbeing and positive experiences of students during the lunch period. This vital role helps create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment where pupils can socialise, participate in activities and feel supported.

• Supervise students before, during and after lunch.
• Promote positive behaviour and uphold school expectations.
• Facilitate games, activities and positive social interaction.
• Monitor student welfare and safety at all times.
• Record and report accidents and incidents in accordance with school procedures.
• Follow safeguarding, first aid and health and safety requirements.
• Support an inclusive environment for all students.

• Enjoys working with children and young people.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is reliable, approachable and caring.
• Can work independently and use their initiative.
• Builds positive relationships with students.
• Can support students with a range of additional needs.
• Shares our commitment to inclusion, wellbeing and high standards.

Maiden Erlegh School is a highly successful comprehensive school for students aged 11-18, located in Lower Earley, near Reading. Relationships between students and staff are extremely positive, and students are keen, curious, respectful and ambitious.

Academic outcomes continue to improve year on year, with the school placing in the top 50 schools nationally for Progress 8, alongside a thriving sixth form.
