About the Role
Pink Tile Education are looking for a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a beautiful SEMH school set in a stunning rural location just outside Horsham.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEND/SEMH professional who is passionate about supporting young people and wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with additional needs.
You will be supporting primary and/or secondary-aged boys who may present with social, emotional and mental health needs, challenging behaviour and complex backgrounds.
The school takes a connection before correction approach, focusing on building positive relationships, understanding individual needs and helping pupils develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed.
What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting pupils with SEMH and additional needs throughout the school day

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils

Supporting learning both in the classroom and through practical activities

Helping pupils to regulate their emotions and manage challenging behaviour

Using positive behaviour strategies and a relationship-based approach

Encouraging independence, resilience and social development

Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team

Supporting pupils with their individual education and development plans

Helping create a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate
The school are looking for someone who:

Has previous SEND, SEMH or specialist education experience

Is confident supporting children and young people with challenging behaviour

Is patient, resilient and emotionally intelligent

Understands the importance of building relationships before addressing behaviour

Is positive, engaging and approachable

Has a genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning

Ideally has an interest in or experience of mental health

Can remain calm and consistent in challenging situations

Is willing to get involved with the wider life of the school

Is a driver, due to the rural location

You don’t need to be a teacher to apply — the school are looking for someone with the right attitude, experience and passion for working with young people.

This is a particularly lovely setting, with beautiful grounds and a supportive team environment. The school works with boys who can find mainstream education challenging and provides a more individualised, nurturing approach to help them progress.
The focus is very much on understanding the young person, building trust and creating positive connections, rather than simply reacting to behaviour.
What’s on Offer?

£127 per day

8:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday

5:00pm finish on Tuesdays

Temporary to permanent from day one

The school does not pro-rata their permanent salaries, meaning you will receive the full-time equivalent salary
