Teaching Assistant

Location: Sandwell

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a supportive Teaching Assistant to start immediately. This Teaching Assistant position will involve working with children and young people who have a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, learning difficulties, communication needs, and additional barriers to learning. Many pupils require consistent emotional support, tailored interventions, and a nurturing approach to help them engage successfully with education and develop positive relationships.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with SEND, SEMH needs, and additional learning barriers.
• Help implement individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and personalised support strategies.
• Adapt classroom resources and learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities.
• Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, social development, and confidence-building.
• Encourage independence, resilience, and positive participation in school life.
• Work closely with teachers, families, and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils.
