We are currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate KS2 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Athersley, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to provide tailored support to pupils, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and socially.

The role:

• Supporting pupils across KS2 with a range of SEND needs
• Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required
• Helping pupils access and engage with classroom learning
• Supporting social, emotional and behavioural development
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
• Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment

We are looking for someone who is:

• Caring, patient and understanding
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
• Confident and resilient
• Able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils
• A good team player with excellent communication skills
• Previous experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
