Salary: £27,456 – £43,014 per annum

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week

About the Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a PSHE Teacher to join a nurturing and specialist SEMH school in Scunthorpe, supporting young people aged 11–16 who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.

This is a meaningful opportunity to deliver empowering, life-focused education, helping students develop emotional resilience, confidence, and essential personal and social skills that support them both in school and into adulthood.

The school provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for students with EHCPs and additional needs such as ADHD or ASD, enabling them to thrive and re-engage positively with learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging PSHE curriculum that supports students’ personal growth and wellbeing.

• Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.

• Teach using a spiral curriculum approach, revisiting key themes to deepen understanding over time.

• Support students with a wide range of SEND needs within a trauma-informed framework.

• Encourage and inspire emotional resilience, confidence, and independence.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support student progress.

Requirements

• Passionate about supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a specialist provision or similar educational setting.

• QTS or QTLS preferred, but not essential.

• Resilient, creative, and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.
