About the Role
Joneshouse Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting a PSHE Teacher to join a nurturing and specialist SEMH school in Scunthorpe, supporting young people aged 11–16 who have experienced challenges in mainstream education.
This is a meaningful opportunity to deliver empowering, life-focused education, helping students develop emotional resilience, confidence, and essential personal and social skills that support them both in school and into adulthood.
The school provides a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for students with EHCPs and additional needs such as ADHD or ASD, enabling them to thrive and re-engage positively with learning.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging PSHE curriculum that supports students’ personal growth and wellbeing.

Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and respected.

Teach using a spiral curriculum approach, revisiting key themes to deepen understanding over time.

Support students with a wide range of SEND needs within a trauma-informed framework.

Encourage and inspire emotional resilience, confidence, and independence.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals to support student progress.
Requirements

Passionate about supporting young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a specialist provision or similar educational setting.

QTS or QTLS preferred, but not essential.
