The Role

As the Lead Maths Teacher, you will take ownership of the Maths curriculum, delivering high-quality lessons that spark curiosity and build confidence. You will support fellow teachers, champion best practice, and create a classroom environment where every learner feels valued, motivated, and empowered to succeed.

This specialist college supports students aged 11–19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. With small class sizes and personalised learning pathways, the school provides a safe, supportive environment where students who may have struggled in mainstream education can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons tailored to individual student needs

• Develop and lead the Maths curriculum in line with Keys Group and Ofsted standards

• Provide personalised learning routes that promote progress and independence

• Support students with one-to-one guidance and encourage self-directed learning

• Manage assessments, homework, marking, and progress reports

• Maintain accurate attendance records and contribute to ongoing student evaluation

Requirements

• A genuine passion for supporting students with SEND

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an SEND or alternative education setting

• QTS/QTLS is highly desirable

• Strong communication skills and a nurturing, patient approach
