About the School

This specialist college, established in 2013, offers a safe and nurturing environment for pupils aged 14–16 who have faced, or are at risk of, permanent exclusion due to challenging behaviours.

The setting focuses on re-engagement through a personalised curriculum that inspires, challenges, and supports every student. Offering both academic and vocational pathways, the team helps learners build confidence, resilience, and the skills needed for life beyond school.

The Role

As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver engaging, tailored lessons to small groups and individual learners. You will support their emotional and academic development, promote independence, and work closely with families to ensure each student receives consistent support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver lessons to small groups and individual pupils

  • Prepare learning materials, maintain registers, and write reports

  • Support students’ confidence, independence, and progress

  • Manage behaviour effectively and maintain a positive classroom environment

  • Mark work and maintain communication with parents/carers

Requirements

  • Passionate about supporting young people with SEND

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a SEND or alternative provision setting

  • QTS/QTLS qualification

  • Patient, resilient, and able to build positive relationships
