The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

Contracted Hours – Monday to Friday ( 10 hours per week)

Contracted start time -06:00am - 8:00am

About the Role

The Facilities Management Team at Lancashire County Council are looking to recruit a Cleaning Operative who is required to carry out cleaning duties at Morecambe Library, Central Drive, West End, LA4 5DL.

The Facilities Management team is responsible for some for some of the most prestigious and iconic buildings in Lancashire.  These buildings provide essential services to the community and vulnerable people.  

High standards of cleanliness are expected and prior experience is desirable; however full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Duties will consist of general cleaning, such as damp wiping, damp mopping, vacuuming, and toilet cleaning.

The work address is 

 Morecambe Library, Central Drive, West End, LA4 5DL.

This position is part time - please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful the salary received will be paid on a pro-rata basis. Therefore the hourly rate is £13.45.
