Job Introduction

Digital Procurement and Data Analyst

Salary: Band D, £33,673 to £38,510 per annum
Location: Council House
Hours: Full time / 37 hours

Are you confident working with systems, data and digital tools? Do you enjoy making processes more efficient, improving data quality and helping colleagues get the best out of technology?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Procurement and Data Analyst to join our Corporate Procurement Service. This is a varied role where you will support the Council’s move towards a more digital-first approach to procurement and commercial processes, helping to make systems and data more efficient, compliant and transparent.

You will play a key role in supporting and improving the digital systems used by the Corporate Procurement Service, including eSourcing and contract management systems such as Atamis, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, web-based tools, AI tools such as Copilot, and the Find a Tender Central Digital Platform.

A significant part of the role will involve leading on procurement data. You will help ensure data is accurate, well-maintained and auditable, using data cleansing, audits, reporting and advice to support colleagues and stakeholders. You will also develop reports, dashboards and insights across areas such as spend analysis, forecasting, KPI reporting, transparency publishing, social value, capacity planning and contract compliance monitoring.

This role would suit someone who is analytical, organised and curious about how digital tools can improve the way services work. You will need to be comfortable working with data from different sources, using Excel and Power Query, and supporting others to develop confidence in digital ways of working.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience using an eProcurement system such as Atamis, In-tend or Delta and Microsoft 365 systems.
  • Experience using the procurement module of an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Experience developing training materials and user guides.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to combine and analyse data from multiple datasets, including advanced Excel functions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of customers, partners and stakeholders at all levels.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the implementation, development and continuous improvement of procurement systems and digital tools.
  • Act as a data lead for the Corporate Procurement Service, helping to improve accuracy, integrity and auditability.
  • Produce reports, dashboards and insights to support both strategic and operational decision making.
  • Support system administration, configuration optimisation, release testing and user training.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues, implement improvements and support new releases.

You will work on a hybrid basis, combining working from home with working alongside the team at Solihull Council House.

We also offer:

  • Flexible working, including flexi leave and agile working arrangements
  • The opportunity to buy up to 10 days additional leave per year
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme – a 24 hour independent, free and confidential advice and support service
  • Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Employee benefits including a staff discount card
