The Role

We’re recruiting for three Stakeholder Engagement Managers here at Justice Digital, Data and Science, within the Digital Compliance team.

Digital Compliance brings together specialist teams that help Justice Digital, Data and Science deliver secure, accessible, resilient and well-governed digital services. Each team has its own expertise, users, stakeholders and ways of working, and effective stakeholder relationships are essential to making those services work well.

As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will be embedded across at least two Digital Compliance teams as their dedicated stakeholder engagement partner. You will work closely with technical specialists to understand their services, the people who use or are affected by them, and the barriers that can prevent effective engagement or adoption.

You will turn stakeholder insight into practical engagement plans, build trusted relationships, facilitate meaningful two-way engagement and help specialist teams explain complex services clearly. Communications, events, communities and content are important tools within the role, but the core purpose is to build relationships, increase understanding and enable the effective use of Digital Compliance services.

You will work within a hub-and-spoke model led by the G7 Stakeholder Engagement Lead. The Lead sets the strategy, operating model, standards and cross-cutting priorities for the function; Stakeholder Engagement Managers translate that direction into locally relevant activity for their embedded teams and feed insight back into the wider function.

Key Responsibilities

Build trusted relationships

• Become an embedded stakeholder engagement partner within assigned Digital Compliance teams, developing a strong understanding of their services, priorities and ways of working.
• Build trusted relationships with subject matter experts, delivery teams, service owners, senior stakeholders and other key audiences.
• Work proactively with teams to identify stakeholder engagement needs early and provide practical advice throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Represent the needs and priorities of assigned teams within the wider Stakeholder Engagement function.

Understand stakeholders and shape engagement

• Identify key stakeholder groups and understand their needs, priorities, behaviours, barriers and preferred ways of engaging.
• Gather insight through stakeholder conversations, feedback, engagement data and learning from previous activity.
• Use this insight to shape engagement plans, messages, channels and approaches that are relevant and proportionate.
• Help teams understand how different stakeholder groups may experience or respond to their services, standards or guidance.

Plan and deliver engagement

• Develop and deliver engagement plans that support projects, services, standards, policy, assurance activity and organisational change.
• Design and facilitate workshops, stakeholder sessions, communities, webinars, events and other opportunities for meaningful two-way engagement.
• Support teams to improve awareness, understanding, confidence and adoption of their services, standards and guidance.
• Translate complex or technical information into clear, accurate and meaningful content for different audiences.

Build communities and capability

• Build and support communities and networks that encourage collaboration, knowledge sharing and shared problem-solving.
• Help leaders and specialist teams build confidence and capability in engaging effectively with their stakeholders.
• Share learning, insight and successful approaches with other Stakeholder Engagement Managers and the G7 Lead.
• Contribute to consistent approaches, tools and good practice across the wider Stakeholder Engagement function.

Work inclusively and accessibly

• Create clear, accessible and inclusive engagement materials that meet accessibility standards.
• Plan meetings, workshops, events and engagement activity so people can participate in different ways.
• Maintain the established accessible ways of working within Digital Compliance, constructively challenging inaccessible practice and seeking specialist accessibility advice where needed.
