Please note this is sessional work, typically taking place in the evening or at weekends, with each session lasting 2.5 hours.

We have exciting opportunities for Youth Support Workers across the county, particularly in the Mansfield, Gedling, Broxtowe and Newark areas. If you care about young people and want to make a difference in your community, this role is for you! Whether you have a few hours a week to spare or are looking for extra income, we want motivated and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with young people.

As a Youth Support Worker, you will:

• Build Bonds: Develop positive professional relationships with young people.
• Engage Enthusiastically: Enable young people to participate in fun and engaging activities.
• Understand Issues: Recognise and address the challenges young people face in today’s society.
• Guide Growth: Assist young people in making informed choices about their lives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• A genuine interest in working with young people.
• Basic understanding of the issues affecting youth today.
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to different situations.
• No formal qualifications are required, but experience in youth work or related fields is a plus.

Required Soft Skills or Competencies/Behaviours

• Compassionate Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work well with others and independently.
• Creative Problem Solver: Think outside the box to engage and support young people.
• Respectful Approach: Treat all individuals with dignity and respect.
