The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Consultant Neonatologist to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in South East Emgland.

This long-term locum opportunity is available due to long-term sickness cover, offering a stable placement within a well-established neonatal service. The role is ideal for experienced consultants with a strong background in neonatology and neonatal intensive care, who are confident managing complex neonatal cases while working as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide consultant-level care within a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Assess, diagnose, and manage neonates requiring intensive, high-dependency, and special care services
• Lead ward rounds and contribute to neonatal clinical decision-making
• Work collaboratively with neonatal nurses, paediatricians, obstetric teams, and allied healthcare professionals
• Support family-centred care and effective communication with parents and carers
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation in accordance with NHS standards
• Participate in service delivery, governance, and quality improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Active GMC registration with a licence to practise
• Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Paediatrics and/or Neonatology, or equivalent experience
• Recent NHS consultant-level experience in Neonatology/NICU
• Excellent clinical judgement and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Valid Right to Work in the UK (please note we do not offer visa sponsorship)
