Year 5 Teacher – Full-Time

Start Date: 28th September 2026
Duration: Temporary until Summer 2027
Contract: Full-Time
Location: Barnsley
Pay: £155 + (dependent on experience) 

We are currently seeking an experienced Year 5 Teacher to join a welcoming school from 28th September 2026, on a full-time basis until the end of the academic year.

This is a full class teacher role, with responsibility for the day-to-day teaching and learning of a Year 5 class.

The Role
As the Year 5 Teacher, you will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons across the KS2 curriculum
• Taking full responsibility for your Year 5 class
• Marking and providing effective feedback on pupils’ work
• Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching accordingly
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, attainment and progress
• Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to the wider school community
• Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment

Requirements

• Previous experience teaching Year 5 is essential
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum
• Experience with planning, marking and assessment
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to supporting pupils to achieve their full potential
