About the role
Alfreton Park is a lively, successful special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, with severe and profound learning difficulties.
We are looking to recruit a Class Teacher who has extremely high expectations to ensure children regardless of gender, ethnicity and religion achieve to the best of their ability.
We looking to recruit a flexible, enthusiastic and energetic teacher to join our specialist team to create better outcomes and life chances for our students in their preparation for adult life. The post offers fantastic opportunities for an innovative SEND teacher with passion to bring further challenge and ambition to learning for pupils with profound and complex needs.
The successful applicant needs to be able to respond to our pupils’ learning levels and support pupils in all areas including self-help skills, physical interventions, personal care and a range of medical interventions. Some of our pupils display behaviours that can challenge those supporting them, including some physically aggressive behaviours.
Successful applicants must be able to lead a class team and have a clear understanding of how to adapt work and their teaching style, to suit the needs of our pupils. The ability to think creatively, inspire young people and have an appreciation of a sense of humour is essential.
Applicants need to have a love of learning, enjoy a challenge and have the ability to develop strategies in problem solving.
If you would like an informal tour of the school, please contact Jane Osment on [phone removed].
