Refuse Driver/Loader

Provide household and commercial refuse collection service throughout Bolsover District Council areas.

The successful candidate will work in the Council’s Streetscene Team undertaking a variety of tasks in relation to routine collection rounds and the removal of household, industrial and commercial refuse from a variety of locations. On occasion this role may also assist in the undertaking of grounds maintenance, street cleansing functions and environmental improvement projects during the winter green bin suspension period.

To be successful you will need:

• Experience in collecting domestic household and commercial waste from urban and rural loca­tions.
• An understanding of Health and Safety systems, including when working on or adjacent to highways.
• Experience with light commer­cial vehicles including their routine daily maintenance, checks and default reporting.
• The ability to work to fixed work schedules and tight deadlines and sustain high levels of physical out­put over prolonged periods.
• Valid Full Driving LGV License (Category C or C+E)

Previous experience of working in a Refuse Collection or Street Cleansing Service area would be advantageous.
