Section Engineer

Colchester, Essex Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD Job Profile for Senior Engineer CF47810 Bennett & Game are currently working with a well-established civil engineering contractor who are looking to recruit a Section Engineer to strengthen their Eastern region. The successful candidate will be working on a major roundabout and highways infrastructure scheme in Colchester, supporting the delivery of the project from site. This is a hands-on site-based position suited to an experienced Section Engineer / Site Engineer with a strong background in highways, roads, earthworks and infrastructure. The role will involve managing setting out, quality, inspections and technical documentation, whilst working closely with the Site Management and Commercial teams. Section Engineer - Position Overview: Managing sectional setting out requirements across the project. Carrying out quality take-offs and working closely with Site Management. Completing inspections and testing to ensure works comply with design and specification. Managing ITPs, quality assurance and relevant site documentation. Managing sectional service drawings and issuing permits where required. Assisting the QS and Project Manager with records, variations and commercial information. Managing as-built information and contributing to the project health and safety file. Developing and reviewing RAMS, hazard assessments and control measures. Identifying potential commercial opportunities and project issues. Supporting and mentoring Junior Engineers. Ensuring works are delivered in line with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.Section Engineer - Requirements: Previous experience working as a **Section Engineer / Site Engineer** on highways or infrastructure projects. Strong setting out experience across **highways, roads and earthworks**. Experience using **Leica or Geomax surveying equipment**. Able to transfer information from **AutoCAD into surveying equipment**. Good understanding of **ITPs, quality assurance and inspection processes**. Strong understanding of construction practices and site procedures. Previous experience managing or mentoring junior engineers. Full UK driving licence is essential. First Aid at Work qualification would be advantageous. Willingness to travel across the Eastern region.Package & Benefits: Company car or car allowance.
