EYFS and SEN Learning Support Assistant (H5)

Applicants must hold EYFS Level 3 (or an equivalent qualification suitable for working with nursery-aged children) and be willing to undertake paediatric first aid training.

We are seeking staff for either a morning role (7.45am-1.00pm) or an afternoon role (12.00pm-6.00pm), working 5 days per week. We will also consider part-time applications for 2 or 3 mornings or afternoons per week.

Morning Role

7.45am-8.30am
Supporting a small group of EYFS children and/or pupils with SEND in our Early Morning Club, led by a manager and assistant who are also Learning Support Assistants within the school.

8.30am-1.00pm
Working predominantly on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has complex additional needs, with occasional general classroom support or small-group work.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is confident working with children.
• Can remain calm, consistent and supportive when managing dysregulated behaviour.
• Demonstrates empathy, resilience, patience and strong communication skills.
• Has an understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND.

Prior experience of working with children would be an advantage, however training will be provided to:

• Provide tailored support and adapt activities to meet individual needs.

• Implement personalised learning programmes.
• Provide personal care to support a child's comfort and wellbeing.
• Gather and share information with the class teacher and SENCO.

Afternoon Role

1.00pm-3.15pm
Working predominantly on a 1:1 basis with a pupil who has complex additional needs, with occasional general classroom support or small-group work.

3.15pm-6.00pm
Supporting a small group of EYFS children and/or pupils with SEND in our After School Club, led by a manager and assistants who are also Learning Support Assistants within the school.
