About the role

We have an exciting opportunity available for an electro-mechanical Workshop Assembly Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical, electrical and pneumatic assembly and testing of machinery and equipment.

The role requires a practical, hands-on technician, who can take equipment from drawings and components through to a completed, tested and operational assembly.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
Carry out basic electrical installation, wiring and termination work within the individuals level of competence.
Read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Carry out inspection, testing and adjustment of equipment.
Use hand tools, power tools and test equipment safely.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop and working environment.
Follow company health and safety procedures, risk assessments and safe systems of work.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Previous experience in a mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled engineering role.
Good practical mechanical fitting skills.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Ability to use standard engineering hand and power tools.
Good problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
Good attention to detail and a strong focus on safety.

Desirable

NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent engineering qualification.
Experience with control systems.
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or process environment.

Small Business Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and take a practical approach to supporting the operation.

This may include:

Working across different areas of the business.
Supporting production and operations when required.
Carrying out a mixture of mechanical and electrical tasks.
Maintaining workshop tools, equipment and spare parts.
