You will play a key role in delivering statutory school admissions services, ensuring children receive school places and that families receive timely, professional advice and support throughout the admissions process.

About the Role

As an Admissions Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the efficient delivery of Redbridge’s school admissions functions, working closely with parents, schools, colleagues and partner organisations.

You will manage a varied workload, ensuring all admissions processes are completed accurately and within statutory timescales while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and safeguarding.

  • Contribute to service improvements and the continuous development of admissions processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, safeguarding, equality and customer service standards.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Requirements

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Previous administrative experience within an office environment.
  • Experience of dealing directly with members of the public.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and meet competing deadlines.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative within established procedures.
  • Commitment to equality, safeguarding and excellent customer care.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience using databases and case management systems.
  • Knowledge of school admissions processes or education services.
  • Experience preparing detailed documentation and electronic case files.
  • Ability to analyse information and resolve complex enquiries effectively.

Why Join Redbridge?

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s access to education.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Valuable experience within a large London local authority.
  • Chance to develop specialist knowledge in education admissions and appeals.
  • Contribute to a service that directly supports families across the borough.

If you are an organised administrator with excellent customer service skills and a passion for supporting children and families, we’d love to hear from you.
