Location: Hybrid, Newport (1-2 days per month onsite)

We are seeking an experienced Agile Delivery Manager to join a large-scale digital transformation programme within a modern public sector organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams delivering innovative digital services and products that impact thousands of users.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on Delivery Manager with a strong background in Agile delivery who can hit the ground running, lead delivery teams effectively, remove obstacles and drive successful outcomes across a complex technology environment.

Working closely with Product Managers, Architects, Developers, Test Engineers, Business Analysts, User Researchers and Service Owners, you will ensure delivery priorities are planned, executed and reported effectively while maintaining Agile best practices and pragmatic delivery approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives and reviews.
• Lead delivery planning, prioritisation and progress tracking across the team.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to align delivery with business objectives.
• Manage workflow from backlog through to delivery, using metrics and data-driven insights where appropriate.
• Provide clear reporting on milestones, delivery forecasts, risks and dependencies.
• Represent delivery teams within wider programme governance and planning forums.
• Identify, manage and mitigate risks, issues and blockers.
• Support incident management activities and coordinate delivery responses where required.
• Drive continuous improvement and Agile maturity across teams.
• Manage cross-team dependencies and ensure alignment of delivery plans.
• Provide leadership, coaching and support to multidisciplinary Agile teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as an Agile Delivery Manager leading cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong experience delivering within complex digital transformation programmes.
• Extensive knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Relevant Scrum Master or Agile Project Management qualification (PRINCE2 alone will not be considered sufficient).
• Demonstrable experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and driving continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience managing priorities, risks, dependencies and delivery roadmaps.
• Strong reporting and management information (MI) experience.
• Experience with Agile tooling such as Azure DevOps, Actionable Agile or equivalent.
• Experience working with DevOps practices, automated testing and delivery pipelines.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to provide accurate visibility of delivery progress, resource requirements and impediments.

Desirable Skills

• Experience using Kanban flow metrics and data-driven delivery management.
• Product Owner or Product Manager experience.
• Experience promoting Agile ways of working across organisations.
• Understanding of government digital and technology delivery frameworks and pipelines.
