Responsibilities:
- Lead structural and dynamic analysis projects for the reactor, internal components, and support structures to demonstrate compliance with ASME BPVC Section III.
- Evaluate primary & secondary stresses and fatigue in reactor internals resulting from mechanical and thermal loadings.
- Execute analyses for assigned projects using sound engineering principles, while adhering to established business standards, practices, procedures, and program requirements.
- Prepare technical reports, calculation packages, and documentation supporting regulatory and design requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, system engineers, project managers, and external partners to complete assigned design activities on time and on budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in mechanical design and project execution.
- Strong, broad knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- 10 years of experience performing structural analysis, working knowledge on ASME Code Sec III is highly preferred.
- 8 years of experience conducting finite element analysis (FEA), including evaluation of mechanical and thermal loadings under both static and transient conditions, preferably using ANSYS Workbench or APDL.
- Programming or data analysis experience using tools such as MATLAB or Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to clearly document engineering analyses and communicate technical findings through reports and presentations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
