About the role
Business Development Manager - Managed IT and Security Services
Reporting to: Managed Services Director
Full time | Permanent
Location: Scotland | Able to travel across Inverness, Highlands and Aberdeenshire
Key responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities
- Build relationships with prospective customers
- Manage the sales process from initial engagement through to contract award
- Work alongside technical consultants during discovery and solution design
- Maintain accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasting
- Develop opportunities within the existing customer base
- Attend networking events and any other opportunities to represent Accord professionally
- Work closely with marketing on campaigns and customer events
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Proven ability to identify, develop and close new business opportunities
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and security profitable outcomes
- Excellent communication, presentation and proposal skills
- Self motivated, resilient and driven to achieve and exceed sales targets
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM
- Ability to build trust and maintain momentum throughout a consultative sales cycle, from initial engagement through to contract signature.
- B2B consultative sales experience
Desirable:
- MSP or IT Services experience
- Information Security awareness
- Existing local business network
- Experience selling recurring managed service or subscription-based solutions
The emphasis should be on attitude, commercial acumen and a proven ability to convert opportunities into long-term customer relationships. Technical knowledge can be developed with support from the wider team, but the ability to build confidence, negotiate effectively and close business is fundamental to the role.
