Accounts Payable Advisor

Role: Accounts Payable Advisor / Associate
Location: Coventry, office based 5 days per week
Duration: 6 months initially
Day Rate: £14 per hour

Working hours: 37 hrs per week

I’m recruiting for an Accounts Payable Advisor/Associate to join my client in their Coventry based office.

You will be joining a team of 7-10, for a period of 6 months initially. The role has good potential to become permanent for the right person.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, ensuring payments are made within agreed terms. You will also support the resolution of invoice, order and workflow issues, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Accountabilities of the Accounts Payable Advisor:

• Opening and collating post and scanning invoices into the relevant OCR and document retrieval systems.
• Validating and processing manual, paper and electronic invoices.
• Processing invoices against Purchase Orders and Goods Received Notes.
• Processing electronic invoices through SAP Ariba.
• Working invoices to achieve First Time Matching wherever possible.
• Ensuring supplier payments are made within agreed payment terms.
• Investigating and resolving invoice, order and workflow queries.
• Identifying the root causes of invoice non-payment and taking appropriate action to resolve issues.
• Responding to email and telephone queries from internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaising with staff at all levels across Finance and the wider business.
• Building effective working relationships with external suppliers.
• Communicating best practice to suppliers and internal users to help prevent recurring issues.
• Monitoring key suppliers where required to help safeguard the supply of critical goods.
• Taking individual responsibility for assigned tasks and ensuring they are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Supporting other appropriate activities across the Accounts Payable process.

Essential:

• Proven experience within Accounts Payable
• Experience with SAP and SAP Ariba would be beneficial.
• Intermediate Excel user
• A superb telephone manner together with great written skills
• The ability to identify problems and provide solutions
• The ability to be self-motivated and resilient
• Organised and strong attention to detail
• Complete tasks to strict deadlines
