About the role

Morson Edge Finance are proud to be the trusted exclusive recruitment partner to Urenco and are currently supporting the appointment of a Graduate Group Tax Analyst (Compliance & Reporting).

Help us to make a world of difference

Urenco is a global leader in the production of low-carbon energy, operating at the forefront of the transition to a sustainable, net-zero world.

This is an excellent opportunity for a high calibre graduate with strong numerical and analytical ability who is looking to begin and develop a long-term career in Tax within the in house Group Tax function of a major international organisation.

Working as part of Urenco’s eight strong UK Group Tax team, you will gain broad exposure across UK and international tax compliance, reporting and project work. You will develop practical experience across Corporation Tax, VAT, Pillar Two, IFRS and FRS 101 tax reporting, alongside wider areas including R&D tax incentives, capital allowances, transfer pricing and tax governance.

Importantly, you do not need previous Tax experience. Urenco will provide company funded professional training and paid study leave towards ATT, CTA or ACCA qualifications, alongside hands-on development and support from experienced Tax professionals. Training and professional development will typically take approximately three years for someone joining directly from a graduate background.

The role

Supporting Urenco’s Group Tax Managers, you will gradually develop first-preparer responsibility for a range of tax activities, with support, guidance and review from experienced members of the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing UK Corporation Tax returns and computations, VAT filings and Pillar Two compliance.
  • Preparing tax analysis and disclosures for Urenco’s interim and full-year Group reporting under IFRS and UK subsidiary accounts under FRS 101.
  • Preparing tax input into budgets and business plan forecasts.
  • Supporting R&D tax incentive claims and capital allowances analysis.
  • Supporting compliance with Senior Accounting Officer and Corporate Criminal Offence requirements.
  • Assisting with tax policies, procedures, transfer pricing analysis and reporting.
  • Undertaking wider UK tax analysis and working with external advisers where appropriate.
  • Providing Tax support to other teams across Urenco.

What we’re looking for:

You will be a graduate with a minimum 2:1 degree, ideally from a Russell Group university, having studied a numerically focused discipline such as Accountancy & Finance, Business, Mathematics, Economics, Chemistry or a related subject.

You will also demonstrate:

  • A genuine and considered interest in beginning and developing your career specifically within Tax.
  • A genuine interest in Urenco and the Nuclear sector, with evidence that you have taken the time to understand both the organisation and the industry.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability and confidence in your ability to perform well in numerical reasoning and aptitude testing.
  • A high level of competency with MS Excel, including the use of formulas.
  • An engaging and curious approach, with the confidence and communication skills to work effectively with and build relationships across a range of key stakeholders.
  • A high level of commitment, attention to detail and pride in the quality of your finished work.
  • A desire and ability to learn, grasp new concepts quickly and follow instructions accurately.
  • Experience of Alphatax and/or SAP would be desirable but is not essential, as training will be provided.
  •

We are looking for genuine, considered responses that reflect your own motivations and research rather than AI generated answers.
