Job Title: Creative Art Technician 

Actual Annual Salary: £9,302 - £10,139 Based on hours and weeks worked.  

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £26,798 – £29,208 (CLF Grade B). Based on 37 hours per week, all year round. 

Contract Type: Permanent 

Hours: Part time, 15 hours per week, 2 days per week (Wednesday and Thursday), Term time only + Inset Days 

Provisional Start Date: November 2026 

Are you looking for a Part Time role that provides classroom support within a creative department?  

We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our art and photography department. Under the supervision of the Curriculum Lead, the Creative Art Technician will provide technical assistance and support to facilitate excellent teaching and learning within the department. They will prepare, provide, and maintain the necessary resources required to enable safe and engaging practical activities to be undertaken by staff and students. The postholder will maintain an appropriate health and safety culture ensuring that all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines are always adhered to. 

Working closely with the Curriculum Lead and teaching staff, you will play an important role in supporting students in both art and photography lessons. As well as maintaining our three art rooms to ensure our creative environments are safe, organised and inspiring places for students to work. This includes supporting with displays of student work, maintenance of photography equipment and working one to one with students. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working across art materials and understanding of photography, along with use of cameras 

About you: 

You will have:  

• experience of instructing others to use specific equipment. 
• a keen interest in working within an education-based environment and commitment to inclusion and acceptance of all. 
• an understanding of the use and demonstration of relevant equipment, such as kiln, woodwork equipment, metal work equipment, etc.  
• good general administration skills.  
• a minimum of A Level standard in art and/or design technology and/or equivalent experience in art and/or design technology.
