£375 per day | Inside IR35 | UK Remote | 6 Months Initially

I’m looking for an experienced Product Owner to join a central government programme on an initial 6-month contract.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in central government project delivery who can work closely with stakeholders, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and help deliver effective digital solutions.

The Role

As Product Owner, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering products within a central government environment. You’ll work with delivery teams, business stakeholders and technical colleagues to ensure priorities are clear and solutions meet user and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring work aligns with business objectives.
• Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, business needs and priorities.
• Translate business requirements into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with Agile delivery teams to support successful project delivery.
• Facilitate refinement sessions, sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies.
• Manage competing priorities and communicate effectively across teams.
• Support continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle.

Essential Experience

• Full, current SC clearance is essential. Candidates must hold valid, in-date Security Check clearance.
• Proven experience working as a Product Owner within central government projects or programmes.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
• Experience managing product backlogs, user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Business Analyst Backgrounds Welcome

Candidates from a strong Business Analysis background may also be suitable, particularly those with experience in Agile delivery, requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement and central government project environments.
