About the role
Our Tier 1 Water Contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of the Otterbourne Water Supply Works Infrastructure Upgrade in Hampshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a major water infrastructure programme, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable construction delivery.
π Location: Otterbourne, Hampshire (between Southampton & Winchester)
ποΈ Type: Site-Based Role (Minimum 4 days per week on site)
π° Salary: Circa Β£75,000 + Car Allowance
Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading construction delivery teams, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability requirements, while delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. β
π¨ Key Responsibilities
β Lead and manage site construction teams across designated projects to deliver works safely, on schedule, and within budget.
β Facilitate project construction kick-off meetings and lead regular project health checks.
β Manage supplier performance across:

- β±οΈ Time
- β Quality
β Review and approve RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), ensuring robustness and compliance.
β Lead:
- ποΈ Constructability Reviews
- π Project Rehearsals
- βοΈ Fit for Assembly Sign-Off
β Drive innovation and best practice to improve project outcomes and efficiency.
β Champion sustainability initiatives including:
- β»οΈ Zero waste objectives
- π± Reduction of embodied carbon
β Ensure contractual and commercial notices are raised promptly and accurately.
β Work alongside the Lead Construction Manager to plan:
- π· Labour
- π Plant
- π¦ Materials
β Foster a positive safety culture where everyone feels empowered to raise concerns.
β Implement innovative construction techniques while maintaining industry-leading standards.
β Collaborate effectively within Joint Venture (JV) environments π€.
π― Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential
π Degree (or equivalent) in a Construction-related discipline
π APMP or equivalent qualification
ποΈ Extensive experience delivering large-scale construction programmes
π§ Water / Wastewater Treatment industry experience
π Strong project and programme management capability
βοΈ Temporary Works experience and/or relevant qualification
π¦Ί Solid understanding of:
- CDM Regulations
- Construction Health & Safety legislation
π Experience managing and monitoring project programmes
π¬ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
π€ Strong relationship-building skills with clients, stakeholders and end users
π― Delivery-focused with the ability to set, drive and achieve targets
π₯ Proven ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams
πΌ Commercial awareness and strong strategic, operational and technical leadership skills
