Location: Barnsley
Pay: Up to £240 per day, paid to scale from day 1
Contract: Long-term temporary
Start: After October half term
Duration: Likely until February and potentially longer

Provide Education are currently recruiting for a Food Technology Teacher to cover a long-term period of absence at a secondary school in Barnsley.
The role is due to start after October half term and is expected to continue until around February, with the possibility of extending further depending on the length of the absence.
The school is looking for a teacher who can take responsibility for Food Technology lessons across the school and provide consistent teaching throughout the placement.

The role will involve:

• Teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
• Planning and delivering lessons in line with the school curriculum
• Assessing and monitoring student progress
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining appropriate expectations
• Preparing students for assessments and examinations where required
• Working alongside the wider department and school staff
• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures

Essential requirements:

• Previous experience teaching Food Technology is absolutely essential
• Experience teaching within a secondary school
• Ability to teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4
• Good classroom management skills
• Appropriate teaching qualification or relevant experience
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
• Availability to commit to the long-term placement from after October half term
