About the role
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming mainstream primary school, supporting pupils who may require additional help with their behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement with learning.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who genuinely wants to support young people to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour, helping them to develop positive behaviours, build confidence and engage successfully within the school environment.
You will work alongside teachers and the wider school team to provide consistent, supportive and nurturing approaches to behaviour.
The successful candidate will be someone who is calm, patient, confident and resilient, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries.
We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children or young people.
- Experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour.
- A genuine passion for helping young people develop and succeed.
- The confidence and resilience to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
- A Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant qualification.
- The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- A consistent and nurturing approach to behaviour management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a wider school team.
- Team Teach qualification would be highly desirable, but is not essential.
What We Can Offer:
- A supportive and welcoming school environment.
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference to children’s lives.
- A rewarding role where no two days are the same.
- Support from an experienced and dedicated school team.
- Opportunities to develop your skills and experience within education and behaviour support.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be someone who sees beyond the behaviour and understands that every child has the potential to succeed when given the right support.
If you are passionate, patient, resilient and committed to helping young people thrive, we would love to hear from you.
