KS3/4 Tutor Maths & English

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated KS3/4 Tutor specialising in Maths and English to inspire and support students in their academic journey.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young learners’ lives who are not currently in education by providing tailored tutoring sessions that foster confidence, comprehension, and enthusiasm for learning. The ideal candidate will bring energy, patience, and a commitment to educational excellence, helping students achieve their full potential in both core subjects.

Duties

• Deliver engaging and personalised tutoring sessions in Maths and English for students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 levels
• Deliver set hours of face-to-face tuition per week.
• Receive an additional 1 hour of paid planning and administration time each week.
• Assess individual student needs and develop tailored lesson plans to address gaps and reinforce strengths
• Support students with exam preparation, homework, and coursework to improve understanding and performance
• Foster a positive learning environment that encourages active participation and confidence-building
• Track student progress regularly, providing feedback to students, parents, and relevant staff
• Collaborate with school, local authority or guardians to ensure consistent support for each student’s educational goals.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification).
• Experience working with secondary-aged learners.
• Proven experience supporting learners with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver personalised learning programmes.
• A patient, flexible and empathetic approach.
