About the role

Lead Business Analyst- Networks/ Connectivity

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Location: Hybrid- One day per week in Central London
  • Pay range: £550- £600 per day/ Inside IR35
  • Start date: ASAP

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lead Business Analyst to support our client’s Future Connectivity programme, working across network and connectivity workstreams.

The role will involve working closely with network architects, engineers, suppliers, service teams and business stakeholders to understand needs, define requirements and support solutions through delivery, testing and implementation.

The successful candidate will have strong Business Analysis experience, with a good practical understanding of network and connectivity technologies and the ability to translate technical information into clear business requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions and working groups across Future Connectivity workstreams.
  • Gather, analyse, document and validate business, functional, non-functional, technical, network, security, operational and site-level requirements.
  • Work with network architects, engineers, suppliers, service teams and business stakeholders to understand and clarify connectivity requirements.
  • Translate complex technical and network information into clear, well-defined business requirements.
  • Produce BA deliverables including:

-            Business Requirements Documents

-            User stories and acceptance criteria

-            Current and future-state process maps

-            Gap and impact assessments

-            Options analysis

-            Requirements traceability matrices

-            Workshop and discovery outputs

  • Maintain requirements traceability from the initial business need through design, build, testing, implementation and acceptance.
  • Support backlog refinement, delivery planning, solution clarification and requirements queries.
  • Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios and business acceptance requirements.
  • Support testing activities, including test preparation, execution, defect triage and requirements clarification.
  • Validate proposed network solutions and designs against agreed requirements.
  • Consider site readiness, resilience, availability, security, user and site impact, operational support, service transition and BAU requirements when defining solutions.
  • Identify and manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, ensuring these are captured through RAID and appropriate governance.
  • Support RACI matrices, decision logs, action logs and dependency tracking.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively to ensure proposed solutions are practical, secure, supportable and aligned with programme outcomes.
  • Support governance, audit and compliance activities, ensuring requirements align with relevant security and regulatory standards.
  • Support executive reporting and programme governance.
  • Lead and mentor BA resources across workstreams and drive consistency and quality of BA deliverables.
  • Work across business and technical teams to drive issue resolution and support effective decision-making.

Skills & Experience include:

Business Analysis

  • Strong experience working as a Lead/Senior Business Analyst within complex technology or transformation programmes.
  • Proven experience leading requirements gathering, workshops and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong experience producing BA documentation, including requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, gap analysis and traceability.
  • Experience supporting solutions through design, delivery, testing, implementation and acceptance.
  • Strong understanding of requirements management, prioritisation and traceability.
  • Experience working in Agile, waterfall or hybrid delivery environments.

Network & Connectivity

  • Practical understanding of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, ZTNA/Zero Trust, firewalls, network security and multi-site connectivity.
  • Experience working on network, connectivity, infrastructure or technology migration/transformation projects.
  • Ability to understand network architecture and technical designs and translate these into business requirements.
  • Understanding of the impact of connectivity changes on sites, users, resilience, availability, security and operational support.
  • Experience working with network architects, engineers, technical teams and third-party suppliers.

Delivery & Stakeholder Management

  • Experience supporting delivery teams with backlog refinement, testing, defect management and implementation readiness.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to business stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Comfortable challenging requirements and proposed solutions constructively.
  • Experience working across multiple workstreams and managing competing priorities.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring other Business Analysts would be beneficial.
  • Strong governance, documentation and reporting skills.
