Functional Systems Engineer - Verification & Certification

Up to £57,000 + bonus | Hybrid, 3 days on-site | Bristol

Want to work on a major UK and international defence programme where your verification and certification work directly supports the delivery of a highly complex system?

We are recruiting for a Functional Systems Engineer, Verification & Certification to join Systems Engineering team, where you will work across the UK and Polish programmes, analysing technical evidence, assessing compliance against requirements and helping deliver the certification evidence needed to support customer deliveries.

What you will be doing

• Review technical evidence and documentation against system requirements.
• Support verification and certification activities, including compliance documentation and verification reports.
• Review and agree Design Verification Plans (DVPs).
• Identify verification gaps, investigate issues and support corrective actions.
• Carry out design reconciliation activities following design change and obsolescence.
• Work across Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software and other engineering disciplines.
• Look for smarter ways of working, including process improvement and automation.

What are we looking for

You are likely to have experience in Systems Engineering, Verification & Validation, Certification or Requirements Engineering, with a strong analytical approach and attention to detail.

You should have:

• Experience using IBM Rational DOORS Classic.
• Experience analysing technical evidence and assessing compliance against requirements.
• Knowledge of Verification & Validation (V&V) processes and methodologies.
• Experience producing or reviewing compliance documentation and certification evidence.
• The ability to work confidently across a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
