Key Responsibilities

• Support pupils' learning across the curriculum through classroom, group and one-to-one work.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours.
• Support the preparation of classroom resources and learning environments.
• Work with teachers to monitor pupil progress and celebrate achievement.
• Provide additional support for pupils with varying educational and emotional needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive school environment.
• Support pupils during break times, educational visits and wider school activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and external professionals where appropriate.
• Contribute to the wider life of the academy and uphold Astrea Academy Trust values.

What We're Looking For

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• Experience of working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their potential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build positive and supportive relationships with pupils.
• Excellent teamwork and organisational skills.
• Patience, empathy and a flexible approach to meeting pupils' needs.
• Confidence in supporting learning and promoting positive behaviour.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• A desire to continually develop professionally and contribute positively to school life.
