About the role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rubery and provide support within a vibrant Reception Class.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and helping young children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning during their crucial first year of school.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative learning activities.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development.
- Assist children in developing communication, social, and emotional skills.
- Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support children with varying learning needs and abilities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote independence.
- Assist with classroom preparation, displays, and learning resources.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or nursery setting.
- Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, or Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Experience supporting children with additional learning needs.
- A nurturing and patient approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
