Year 1 PPA Teacher

Zest Education is currently recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Burton upon Trent. This is an exciting part-time opportunity, working every Monday and Tuesday to provide PPA cover in a Year 1 class.

Starting as soon as possible, this ongoing role is ideal for a teacher who enjoys working in Key Stage 1 and can deliver engaging lessons while maintaining high standards of learning and behaviour.

About the Role

As the Year 1 PPA Teacher, you will take responsibility for teaching a vibrant and enthusiastic Year 1 class every Monday and Tuesday. You will deliver lessons that inspire young learners, support their development, and ensure learning continues seamlessly during teachers’ PPA time.

Furthermore, you will work closely with the wider school team to maintain consistency and provide pupils with a positive and engaging classroom experience. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a teacher seeking a regular part-time position within a supportive primary school.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons to a Year 1 class every Monday and Tuesday.
• Create a fun, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Support pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
• Follow school policies and procedures.
• Mark work and provide feedback where required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure continuity of learning.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1.
• Be confident delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom behaviour.
• Have strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Be organised, reliable, and professional.
• Build positive relationships quickly with pupils and staff.
• Demonstrate a passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
