Transport Manager, Brentwood, Essex
£45,000 – £50,000 per annum DOE
Permanent | Full Time | On Site
Hours: Normally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with flexibility required
Noble Recruiting is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation based in the Brentwood area of Essex.
This is a hands-on Transport Manager position with responsibility for the day-to-day transport operation, driver management, fleet compliance and Operator Licence requirements.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing drivers, vehicle files, maintenance, insurance and transport compliance.
- Supporting daily transport planning and scheduling.
- Ensuring Operator Licence compliance and adherence to current transport legislation.
- Managing driver hours, tachographs and relevant documentation.
- Supporting the business in working towards Bronze FORS accreditation.
- Completing and maintaining risk assessments and transport procedures.
- Liaising with customers and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Working closely with the warehouse and wider logistics operation.
- Supporting driver recruitment, interviews and onboarding.
- Ensuring customer SLAs and KPIs are achieved.
What we’re looking for
- You must have recent experience working as a Transport Manager within a busy logistics or transport environment.
- A valid Transport Manager CPC qualification is essential, along with previous experience of being named on an Operator Licence or acting as a nominated Transport Manager.
- You’ll need a strong understanding of transport compliance, driver regulations, vehicle maintenance and Operator Licence requirements, together with good leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Experience with FORS accreditation and the audit process would be an advantage.
- A full driving licence and your own transport are essential due to the location of the site.
