About the role
Business Process Automation Developer (IBM BAW)
Location: Northampton (2-3 days per week onsite)
Duration: Initial 6-month contract
Rate: Up to £700 per day Inside IR35 (Umbrella)
The Role
As a Business Process Automation Developer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and supporting workflow and business process solutions using IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW). You'll collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions that support critical business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain IBM BAW workflow and process applications
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Develop integrations with enterprise systems, REST APIs and databases
- Participate in solution design, technical reviews and code quality initiatives
- Support Agile delivery activities including estimation, sprint planning and execution
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and production issues
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment activities and engineering best practices
- Produce and maintain technical documentation
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Product Owners and Test Engineers to deliver successful outcomes
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on development experience with IBM Business Automation Workflow (BAW)
- Experience designing and implementing complex workflow and case management solutions
- Strong Java development skills
- Experience integrating with REST APIs and enterprise applications
- Solid SQL and relational database experience
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams
- Experience supporting production applications and resolving complex technical issues
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
Desirable Experience
- Financial Services or Banking sector experience
- Experience working on large-scale transformation programmes
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and messaging technologies
- CI/CD, DevOps and automated deployment experience
